Chris Barron, LL.B. (Hons)
Qualified in 1980.
Joined the firm as a Solicitor in 1983 and has been Senior Partner since 1993
Chris has a wide range of experience in most areas of law, including property law and litigation; divorce work, wills, probate and estate planning; and general advocacy. He now specialises in conveyancing of all kinds, having a wealth of knowledge in both commercial conveyancing (including leases, and business sales & purchases) and residential conveyancing (including buy-to-let, leasehold, remortgage, compulsory purchase and right-to-buy).
Paul O'Donnell, LL.B. (Hons)
Qualified in 2000.
Joined the firm in 1998 as a Trainee Solicitor and has been a Partner since 2002.
Assistant Coroner: Cumbria.
Legal Advisor: Barrow Council Licensing Regulatory Committee.
Born and bred in Barrow, Paul is proud of his ability to use his role at this firm to positively contribute to the area. He has a thriving property-based practice, dealing with a broad range of related issues from residential sales and purchases, to commercial acquisitions, housing developments, and disputes. He also deals with divorce and family matters, with a sympathetic but robust approach. He is a legal advisor to Barrow Borough Council, routinely addressing a wide variety of issues, including constitutional matters, procurement, planning, enforcement, and licensing. Paul is a member of the Institute of Licensing and, during his time as legal advisor to the Council's Licensing Committee, has developed a rather niche specialism in zoo licensing and related issues. Since 2013, Paul sits part-time as Assistant Coroner, investigating deaths predominantly from across South Cumbria.
Deborah Yearnshire, LL.B.
Qualified in 2003
Joined the firm in 2016 as an associate Solicitor and became a partner in 2017.
Deborah has practised in the local area for more than 12 years. She has considerable experience in preparing Wills, advising on succession and Inheritance Tax planning, and in the creation of Trusts. She is also experienced in the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney, and obtaining Deputyship Orders from the Court of Protection. Deborah also deals with all aspects of Probate - from obtaining a Grant, to administering and distributing the Estate, and dealing with any Trusts that have been created by the Will.
Since 2016, she has expanded her area of work to include residential conveyancing.
Matthew Viner, LL.B.
Qualified in 2014
Joined the firm in 2012 as a para-legal, progressed to Trainee Solicitor, and became a fully qualified solicitor in 2014. Matt became a partner in 2017.
Matt is an experienced property lawyer, and also deals with personal injury claims, housing issues, consumer disputes, and general litigation.
Dylan Caldwell, LL.B.
Joined the firm in 2018, having graduated with a first class honours degree in law, and previously worked for a niche medical negligence practice.
Dylan is a Paralegal, providing valuable assistance to our qualified solicitors. He is presently undertaking the Legal Pratice Course, before becoming a Trainee Solicitor with us.
Currently, Dylan is focussing on Divorce and Family matters under the supervision of Paul O'Donnell, as well as assisting on a variety of other cases, including conveyancing and litigation.
Office Manager and Probate Assistant
Joined the firm in 1989 as assistant cashier/receptionist, and became Cashier in 1991. Tracy then began assisting solicitors with the preparation of Estate Accounts, and soon progressed to dealing with Estate Administration generally.
Tracy has considerable experience in the administration and taxation of Estates, and provides valuable assistance to our Probate solicitors.
She is also the firm's Office Manager, and is acting Cashier.
